Movable Bulkhead
Movable Bulkhead
Movable dividing wall that splits a pool for simultaneous competition, training, and recreational use, without permanent construction.
A movable bulkhead is a dividing wall that runs across the pool and can be repositioned to change the layout of the water. It lets a single pool be used for several activities at once, and lets a facility set competition course lengths or create separate training and recreation zones. TIKTRA bulkheads use a three-dimensional stainless-steel lattice structure that runs on wheels along guide rails or pool-edge guides, and they are engineered to carry their structural load even when the pool is empty.
Features
- Stainless-steel (AISI 304/316) three-dimensional lattice structure for strength and corrosion resistance
- Wheels (two per end) in solid stainless steel, running on ground-mounted rails or pool-edge guides
- Polyurethane-covered wheels available for rail-free installations, suited to newly built facilities
- Moves along the pool's long axis, configurable for 25 m and 50 m pools
- Engineered to carry its full structural load even when dry
- Low maintenance; stainless-steel construction resists chlorinated and saltwater environments
Technical details
- Material: AISI 304/316 stainless-steel lattice frame with solid stainless-steel wheels
- Motion: ground-guide rails or in-pool wheel carriers; manual or powered movement options
- Wheels: stainless-steel wheels, or UV-stabilised polyurethane covers for rail-free operation
- Performance: structural integrity retained when submerged or dry, and across temperature and chemical exposure
