Special pool technologies — movable floors, movable bulkheads, sparger systems, underwater windows and indoor paddle tanks for advanced aquatic facilities.
Rhine Sports supplies the specialist hardware that turns a standard pool into a multi-use, federation-ready training and competition venue. We work with aquatic facility designers, federation infrastructure teams, architects and high-performance training centres on the components that change what a pool can do — variable depth, reconfigurable lane lengths, safer diving training, viewing access for coaches and analysts, and dedicated indoor tanks for paddle sports.
The collection includes Movable Pool Floors that adjust depth from zero to full competition depth, Movable Bulkheads that split a 50 m pool into two 25 m courses or create variable training zones, Diving Pool Sparger Systems that aerate the water surface to soften high-platform diving impact, Removable Headwalls for short-course conversions, Acrylic Pool Underwater Windows for spectator viewing and coach analysis, the Myrtha Flow high-performance counter-current system for swim training in compact pools, and Rhine Sports Indoor Kayaking Tanks (2-seat and 4-seat), Indoor Canoeing Tanks, and Indoor Rowing Tanks (single and double paddle).
These are project-grade installations that need to be specified alongside the main pool design, civil works and pool deck plant rooms. We work with your architect and aquatic consultant from concept to commissioning. Lead times depend on size and configuration but are typically 4–9 months. Common questions
-
Can a movable floor be retrofitted to an existing pool? Sometimes, yes — it depends on existing structural depth, plant capacity and deck access. We carry out a feasibility review before quoting.
-
What is a sparger system and why do I need one? A sparger releases air bubbles across the water surface beneath diving platforms, breaking surface tension to soften athlete impact during training. It is standard on FINA-spec diving wells where 5 m and 10 m platforms are in regular training use.
-
Can the indoor paddle tanks be installed in an existing club building? Yes — indoor canoe, kayak and rowing tanks are designed to fit within a standard sports hall footprint with appropriate civil and water-management provisions. We help scope the building requirements.
